我国在光绪元宝正式量产之前,充斥在我国市场的是外国洋银。尤其是沿海地区和西方接触较早,自17世纪初荷兰与西班牙商人先后侵入台湾后,西方银圆就慢慢渗入到国人的生活,也正是因为如此,所以台湾清代文献中常见“番银”及“鹰银”等。
